On 10 February 1939, a host of Royal Dutch Shell Group directors, senior Nazi officers, officials and members of the Nazi and Dutch governments, all attended the state funeral in Nazi Germany of Sir Henri Deterding conducted by Bishop Walther Schultz of Mecklenburg, an ardent supporter of Hitler and the Third Reich. Also a rabid anti-Semite.
