June 26 (Bloomberg) — Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Europe’s largest oil company by market value, said it appointed Peter de Wit to lead its Dutch division.
De Wit will succeed Shell Nederland BV’s director, Rein Willems, on Sept. 1, The Hague-based Shell said in an e-mailed statement today.
The 61-year-old Willems, who earlier this month became a member of the upper house of the Dutch Parliament, will retire after a 38-year career at Shell.
De Wit, 57, started at the company in 1970. He is now executive vice president global businesses at Shell’s gas and power division. De Wit will keep some of his current responsibities, the company said.
