‘Atlantic’ documentary film from award winning makers of ‘The Pipe’

‘Atlantic’ is the latest documentary film planned by the makers of the award winning documentary ‘The Pipe,’ which focused on the controversy surrounding the Shell led Corrib Gas pipeline project in Ireland.

‘Atlantic’ will be directed by Risteard O Domhnaill, who won international acclaim for directing ‘The Pipe.’

The new film will follow the fortunes of three fishing communities united and divided by the Atlantic ocean, as they struggle to maintain their way of life despite mounting challenges within their own industry and environment, and an increase of oil exploration activities in their fishing grounds. read more

‘On the Horizon’ will investigate the background of the oil industry in Ireland

Screen Shot 2013-06-13 at 18.18.02I am a documentary film-maker based in the West of Ireland, and am looking to fund a follow-on to my last, and first, feature documentary, ‘The Pipe’, which has won numerous awards and been broadcast in 25 countries on 4 continents.  While filming ‘The Pipe’ (supported by TG4 and IFB), a story about the community at the centre of the Corrib Gas controversy, I began to delve into the wider story behind Ireland’s Oil & Gas.
