Irish Independent: Warrant for arrest of Shell worker on boat charge

A BENCH warrant has been issued for the arrest of Shell pipeline worker who has been charged with having excess alcohol consumed while in charge of a vessel.

James Kyle, Rockroad Park, Ayre, Scotland failed to appear at Belmullet Court, Co Mayo, yesterday in connection with an incident last Friday in which four fishing boats were damaged at Ballyglass pier by a 60-foot barge.

The barge was being used by Tidewave Ltd, which is contracted to handle the shallow water onshore section of the Shell Corrib gas pipeline.

Garda Brian Galvin said he arrested Kyle at 9.25pm on July 8 and he was released on his own bail of €1,000 to appear at Belmullet court yesterday .
