Bloomberg: Nigeria to Sell LNG to Shell, Total, Occidental, Oil Daily Says

By Dinakar Sethuraman

Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) — Nigeria LNG Ltd. has agreed to supply 4.375 million metric tons a year of liquefied natural gas from a seventh production line to Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Total SA and Occidental Petroleum Corp. for 20 years, the International Oil Daily said, citing an unidentified Nigeria LNG official.

Nigeria has signed five sales contracts accounting for 95 percent of the seventh production line’s capacity, the report said. The contracts are subject to a final investment decision on the project, the report said.

Nigeria LNG will this year complete its sixth production line, known as a train. The first six trains each have capacity of 3.7 million tons a year. The seventh train would have 8.4 million tons a year of capacity, increasing the venture’s total output to 30.6 million tons a year starting in 2012, the report said.
