Iran is holding fire on ordering LNG tankers until it has cemented upstream deals, putting at risk its target of ordering ten vessels by 2010, reported Bloomberg. Iran plans to export 80m tonnes of LNG by 2012 but it has yet to confirm any purchasing agreements. Meanwhile, firms such as Total and Royal Dutch Shell have delayed investment decisions in LNG projects due to the country’s ongoing nuclear controversy.
