• Shell, BP and Total, Europe’s three largest oil companies, are among bidders for a project to develop sour gas deposits in the United Arab Emirates.

• Shell agreed to buy the 44 gasoline stations in Malaysia operated by ConocoPhillips, expanding its retail network in the South-east Asian nation.

• Gazprom, the world’s biggest natural gas producer, has no plans to sell the fuel directly to UK homes.
