SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Customs Agency (DGA) said it began proceedings against the oil company Shell Limited, to safeguard the State’s tax interests regarding alterations of fuel shipment manifests, as stated in a report of an investigation ordered by the Dominican Petroleum Refinery (Refidomsa).
Shell, which is an equal partner with the Dominican State in Refidomsa, is in negotiations to sell its shares.
In a statement, the DGA recommends that Refidomsa, Shell Ltd., and the possible buyers of shares in the Refinery make the corresponding reserves to cover the credit as the result of the measures it has taken. The DGA doesn’t specify which measures it adopted against Shell.
It said the statements by Rafael Maradiaga, Shell’s representative in the country and Refidomsa vice-president, regarding alterations of fuel imports manifests, imply a confession of Customs Law violation, which already prompted it to begin legal actions to defend the State’s tax interest.
The Customs Agency said Maradiaga had told the press that “alterations have been made in the manifests of shipments of hydrocarbon imports” and reiterated it has taken the pertinent measures to protect the State’s tax interest.

Social Condition
A Big majority of our people is poor and has no respectable social status in our society. They are treated as substandard not 1st Number citizen). This is not governmental attitude but common public attitude which affects directly our lives. Therefore majority of us are not having good social status and prosperity. We have assessed some major factor which always been effected on our lives. Like Spiritual ignorance Education, Health, Prosperity, and Basic Human rights.
Education condition.
People can not educate there children due to illiteracy and ignorance. People are far from the church God). They are not practically Christian. Most of the problem is that they have no proper educational facility and school. Our struggle has been changed the mind for people but lack of facilities, it can not fulfill immediately. We have been praying and have faith for the fulfillment of our vision.
Health Condition
Health condition of our people is also not so satisfaction. Specially Women and Mothers. We can have any dispensary or clinic; we have but far from the locality. We want to establish Health center therefore praying for it too.
Prosperity and Basic Human rights,
As I have mentioned above our social condition. It is all due to lack of facilities and education. We can promote education and Health awareness which will be directly effect on our prosperity and Basic Human rights.
We want to arrange skill development workshop and projects so that our youngster those are indirectly engaged with our mission can be skillful and can get employment. We think that skills and jobs can raise up our social status. Which will help us to spread the Gospel?
We have done many work shops which our ministry could do easily but most the projects are appending due to lack of funds.
