Cairn Energy has given the first hint about its future strategy by submitting a bid for two exploration licences in Greenland.

Shell has decided to temporarily close the largest oil refinery in South Africa after a national strike that has crippled the refinery industry and led to petrol shortages. The Sapref facility in Durban holds 35 per cent of South Africa’s refinery capacity and is jointly owned by Shell and BP.
