THE SPIN: LEAKED ANNOUNCEMENT BY SEIC CEO IAN CRAIG

FROM: Ian Craig, CEO
DATE:  15 January, 2008
SUBJECT:

Staff Announcement

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that, with effect from 1st March, 2008, Mark Wojcik, currently general manager of Human Resources department (GM HR), will be appointed to the new role of GM HR for Shell Qatar. In this role Mark will be accountable for a unified Qatar Shell HR team, general Services and Real Estate.

It had previously been announced that Mark would be moving to Moscow as VP HR for Shell Russia. Please note that Nigel Kemp, who has been acting in this position, will now assume this role on a permanent basis.

Mark joined Sakhalin Energy in January 2006 and has played a key role in developing the HR department during what has been a period of significant growth in staff numbers. Please join me in thanking him for his substantial contribution over the last two years and wishing him well in his new assignment.

The senior HR role for Sakhalin Energy will, in accordance with the shareholders agreement of last year, now be at director level and will be filled by a Gazprom nominee who has been identified and will be announced shortly once the appointment process is complete.

Regards,
Ian Craig

THE FACTS:

Mark Wojcik was told to leave Russia. He is no longer welcome. His fall from grace came as a result of the litigation we have already reported. Instead of promotion to the exulted post of a Shell Vice President based in Moscow, he is now persona non grata in Russia.

SAKHALIN ENERGY NIGHTMARE CONTINUES: LEGAL ACTION BY SEIC EMPLOYEES AGAINST THE COMPANY

After the lawsuits were filed, the SEIC board decided to appoint a Russian GM. The court date has been delayed till the 17th of April 2008. It has been confirmed that the SEIC employees all work in the Electrical Department at LNG. They consist of 6 Russian Nationals and one expat – a Shell UK employee.

Documents being filed with the court prove that Mark Wojcik personally signed and implemented a policy which broke Russian Federation Labor Code, breached human rights, removed civil liberty and put employees’ lives in danger. They also provide evidence that anyone who objected to this illegal operation was threatened with the sack.  The documents  also expose the condoned use of illegal contracts in the Sakhalin-2 project.

To put it bluntly, the s*** will hit the fan when 120 SEIC internal emails detailing SEIC management deliberately flouting Russian Federation Law are put into the public domain in court and on this website.
