THE WALL STREET JOURNAL: Shell Nominates Ackermann to Board

March 14, 2008; Page B8

Royal Dutch Shell PLC said it will name Deutsche Bank AG’s chairman as nonexecutive director. The Anglo-Dutch oil company said it will propose the appointment of Josef Ackermann to its board at its May 20 shareholders meeting.

Mr. Ackermann is the chairman of both the management board and the group executive committee of Deutsche Bank. Shell said it gets a limited number of financial services from Deutsche Bank, and that Mr. Ackermann hasn’t been involved in those services.

Mr. Ackermann joined Deutsche Bank’s management board in 1996, and prior to that he was a president of Switzerland’s Schweizerische Kreditanstalt. He is also a member of the supervisory board of German conglomerate Siemens AG.
