Russia-InfoCentre: Shell and Tatneft to set up a Joint Venture

Shell figures on forming a joint venture with Tatneft, Russian oil and gas company, to explore and develop heavy oil fields in the republic of Tatarstan, said the head of Shell office in Russia.
The parties wished to settle this issue as soon as possible in the course of the meeting, which took place on Thursday.
The size of the shares each company is going to control has not been fixed yet, but the sides lean towards making a 50/50 deal. The total amount of joint capital investments may make up $100-120 million.
