| Shell hosts Prince Andrew in Abu Dhabi |
 May 2005 News:A member of the British Royal Family, H. H. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, paid a visit to Abu Dhabi on 14th February.
During his stay, the Prince gained insight into the advances in technology and education taking place in the UAE. H. E. Sheikh Nahayan Mubarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Education and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), and Shell Abu Dhabi’s Managing Director, Dr Mohamed Defrawi, gave him a tour of the Shell Simulation Centre at HCT. They were accompanied by H. E. Richard Makepeace, British Ambassador to the UAE, and Dr Tayeb Kamali, Director, Abu Dhabi Men’s College. The Shell Dynamic Process Simulation Centre enhances the educational experience of students by allowing them a virtual look into the structure and operation of a crude distillation unit and a natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery plant. It was donated to HCT by Shell Abu Dhabi. At the end of the visit, Prince Andrew was also introduced to Shell’s efforts to promote youth self-employment in the UAE when he met with a group of UAE nationals who had recently graduated from the Shell Intilaaqah programme, which nurtures the growth of young entrepreneurs. http://www.shelldubai.com/almahara/may2005/news1.htm
