LONDON, Dec 3 (Reuters) – Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L: QuoteProfileResearch,Stock Buzz) has restarted a reformer at its Pernis refinery this week after a brief shutdown, trade sources said on Tuesday.

Shell shut off the gasoline making units late last week due to technical problems. The 25,000 barrels-per-day reformer should return to full operation by the end of this week, the sources said.

Shell was not available to comment.

Shell has been buying physical gasoline on the spot market in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp area this week.

Pernis refinery has a capacity to process 412,000 barrels of crude oil a day, making it Europe’s largest oil refinery. (Reporting by Ikuko Kao)
