A helicopter with 21 people on board has made a safe landing on Shetland after a full emergency was called.

Coastguards said the S-92, operated by Bristow, reported a possible fuel leak and landed at Scatsta.

It had been travelling from the Brent oil field in the North Sea with 19 passengers and two crew on board.

A Shetland Coastguard spokesman said the alarm was raised at about 1040 GMT and the helicopter landed safely. Engineers later found no fuel leak.

The emergency services were called to the scene.

The incident is being blamed on a “discrepancy in a monitoring system”.
