SENIOR PERSONNEL POSITION

CHANGES AT KENYA SHELL LTD

ENG. PATRICK OBATH PROMOTED TO A SENIOR POSITION
WITHIN SHELL’S PAN-AFRICA OIL PRODUCTS ORGANIZATION

Coastweek – – In recent months Kenya Shell has been undergoing a number of changes.

In mid-2007 its parent Shell company shareholder acquired the shares of its partner BP leading to Kenya Shell Ltd becoming a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Royal Dutch Shell (RDS) group of companies.

As a step in implementing the associated changes, the company has reviewed its management governance structure.

The position of Managing Director, Kenya Shell has been discontinued.

Eng. Patrick Obath has recently moved to a senior position within Shell’s pan-Africa Oil Products organization, based in Nairobi.

He will continue as a Director of Kenya Shell.

Ahmet Erdem has recently been appointed as Country Chairman/ Sales and Operations Manager, Kenya, the senior business role for Kenya Shell’s activities in Kenya.

He will also be a Director of Kenya Shell.

Mr. Erdem joins Kenya Shell from a previous senior management appointment in Shell’s joint venture company, Shell and Turcas Petrol S.A. in Turkey. Other current Directors of Kenya Shell are Edgar Omoto (Kenya Shell, Business Improvement Manager) and Peter Ndirangu (Kenya Shell, Finance Manager).

The Chairman of the Board of Kenya Shell remains Dr. George Brunton, Sales and Operations Vice President, North and East Africa, also based in Nairobi. Other recent senior leadership appointments for Kenya Shell are Ms. Lena Munuve (Retail Manager), Ms. Caroline Okwiri (Commercial Manager) and Eng. Thomas Mongare (Distribution Manager).

The business focus for Kenya Shell remains unchanged.

The company intends to continue to play a leading role in the provision of fuels, lubricants, bitumen, LPG and related services to all consumers in the Kenyan market, to play its part in the development of a vibrant and growing energy sector within the Kenyan economy and to retain its commitment to providing its customers with excellent service and support at all times.
