An interesting Financial Times article was published this evening under the headline: 800m pumped into Irish pipeline project
Referring to the hugely controversial Shell led Corrib Gas consortium, Michael Crothers, the new MD of Shell E&P Ireland, concedes that Shell could have done a better job of engaging with the local community when it started working on the project a decade ago. He says it has done a much better job in the past five years and claims that the community is now largely behind the project…”
It will be even more interesting to learn of the reaction to his claim by the many members of the local community who have mounted a relentless campaign against Shell and its hired security staff.
