Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar are facing a multimillion-pound bill to defend their proposed redevelopment of the Shell Centre in Central London after a public inquiry was called.
The developers’ plan to create a large commercial and residential campus next to the London Eye was dealt a blow after Nick Boles, the Planning Minister, “called it in†last week, catching both the market and Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, by surprise.
