I have today been in email correspondence with Johan Groenewald, Senior Investigating Officer of the Garda Ombudsman Commission. Mr. Groenewald is currently investigating police corruption allegations made by whisleblower OSSL against Shell EP Ireland. I have supplied Mr. Groenewald with emails sent to a third party major company alleged to have held a €2 million slush fund on behalf of Shell to fund sweetener payments to landowners and gifts/bribes given to Irish police officers.

I put these allegations directly to the third party company in August 2013 and again on 21 March 2014.

Extract from my email of 21 March email.

“If I receive no response by Tuesday 25 March 2014, I will take it that no response was sent to the 23 August 2013 email and that (REDACTED) still does not deny that a slush fund existed for the purposes alleged by OSSL. I will then notify the Irish Police Ombudsman investigating directly related allegations made by OSSL.”

That is exactly what I have done.

I have also supplied Mr. Groenewald with extensive related evidence that he may not have seen before.

I have also advised him that if, as reported in the news media, the offices of the Garda Ombudsman Commission have been bugged, then Shell is a possible suspect. I have explained why.

I noted with great interest the sudden resignation today of the Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan prompted by his comments about whistleblowers and related scandals, followed by equally shocking news this afternoon of an Irish government inquiry into widespread secret recordings by the Irish police force dating back many years.

The potential repercussions are said to be huge.
