Shell loss will show true state of oil industry

If the analysts are right, it would be the first time that Shell has reported a loss on an underlying basis, which excludes one-off charges, since the unification of Royal Dutch and Shell Transport & Trading in 2005. Shell is Europe’s biggest oil company, with profits of $15 billion last year and about 80,000 employees globally.
