DO NOT SWITCH TO SHELL ENERGY

DO NOT SWITCH TO SHELL! Terrible experience upon switching, which was done based on the low headline price and the lure of a £30 bill credit for getting a smart meter installed before a certain date. Firstly, neither their website or app would allow me too book an installation, and I had to log issues via their app to allow this to happen. I believe that if I hadn’t have chased, they wouldn’t have contacted me or given the bill credit. Next, the switch was sold at a competitive price (more expensive than our previous supplier, but worth it for the bill credit), all I’ll say is be prepared to be billed at a far higher cost. Finally, the bill credit for smart meter instillation isn’t given until the end of your tariff, which is in the Terms and Conditions but is never once mentioned when you are sold to under the promise of a £30 credit. We have already been over billed by more than the £30 so I guess its 18 months of over billing in order get a fraction of it back. I should never have switched from People’s Energy and expect I’ll be regretting it until I can get out of this rubbish tariff. Do not make the same mistake I have.

Shell Energy have been the dearest energy I’ve ever been on! After phoning them nearly every month about my electric being over £200 every month! I have gas central Heating and gas cooker. So I asked could someone check my meters or am I giving the wrong readings! ( this was never resolved) over £200 a month? what was I lighting up Blackpool lights? Anyway I decided to move to OctopusEnergy. For some reason Shell would not let me move my gas over and when phoned they said I needed to pay my month bill of £214 before they would release my gas to octopuse! I paid this and they still did not release my gas!!! After days of trying to get though to customers service I was told I’ve got another bill for this month of £200 and was told I renewed my tariff with them and got to pay £50 each for gas and electric? Also taken into consideration my electric bill have been took over by octopus 18 days ago and shell energy have still charge me £220 for electric and £110 for gas the customer service lady also told me I had £180 discount off so that would’ve meant that my bill would’ve been £510 this month! Well today finally my gas have been released and I have now left this very expensive company! Might pay £2 a month to them until someone sorts this out and checks my meter, because I reckon Shell will owe me not me owe them Advice stay away

Shell energy is trible it has been 2years that I have problem with this company never never purchase gas or electricity from them . when I moved to my new house faced problem with submitting the meter they couldnt sort it out for 1 year after 1year they told me its ok you dont need to submit the meter they just made a direct debit with sum of £64 for me I though it’sorted and agreed they keep sending me each month to submit the meter as I said the meter reading has problem and I cant submit it so they are sending bills up to £150 to my house I dont know what I should do with this problem its costumer service is awful every time I call them they say something different.
