GUEST speaker at the next meeting of the North Wales Business Club will be Jyoti Munsiff who, for more than 12 years up to July, was general counsel-corporate to the Royal Dutch/Shell Group and senior legal advisor and company secretary to Shell Transport and Trading Company.

Currently chief ethics and compliance officer of The Royal Dutch Shell, Ms Munsiff was born in Bombay in 1947 and is now a naturalised British subject.

She qualified as a solicitor in 1969 and joined Shell that year. During her career she spent periods in Argentina and Oman and became secretary to the committee of managing directors of Shell, the first woman to take that role. In 2005 she was named Asian Business Woman of the Year.

She will speak at the North Wales Business Club dinner at St George’s Hotel, Llandudno, on Thursday.

Club chairman David W Williams said: “We are fortunate to have this opportunity of welcoming a woman who has excelled in senior executive positions in a truly global company.

“The changes that are occurring within the oil industry are dramatic and far reaching. We can look forward to an interesting insight into how one of the biggest companies in the world approaches trading in the 21st century.”

E-mail [email protected] or ring 07789 348817 for tickets which cost £21. The club’s revised website www.nwbc.org.uk is now up and running.
