As you know I detest Shell and am spitting blood at the thought of having to become their customer again.EXTRACTS FROM EMAIL RECEIVED FROM A FORMER CUSTOMER OF SHELL ENERGY BEING FORCED BACK AGAINST HIS WISHES BACK INTO THEIR CLUTCHES
29 SEPT 2021
Hi John
Long time, no speak, hope you may remember me.
My dual-energy was with Green who have gone bust and literally a few minutes ago I received an email from SHELL ENERGY welcoming me. Obviously, the regulator has switched me over without prior consultation. Needless to say the very last thing I would ever want is to become a customer of these crooks ever again.
Their email says I can switch immediately but I must wait until the switch is complete until I can cease to be their customer.read more
Community members encountered a powerful smell. And per the article, “On Mon., Sept. 27, the PADEP issued Shell a notice of violation for the odor and fugitive dust, and it considers this an open compliance matter, meaning that it is an ongoing violation of environmental law. Each day the violations continue is considered a separation offence. The notice of violations is neither an order or any final action by the PADEP.”read more

REVEALED: How Embattled Ex-Attorney General, Adoke Sought To Transfer Over $1billion From Nigerian Government Account After Leaving Office
BY SAHARA REPORTERS,
NEW YORK SEP 28, 2021
An internal email exchange between anti-money laundering officers at JP Morgan Chase (JPMC) bank records that a former Nigerian Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke sought to transfer over $1 billion from government account, after he had left office.
The information showed that “Mr Adoke”, described in the email as “the former Nigerian Minister of Justice and Attorney General”, sought to transfer $1,092,015,000 from a Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) account, held with the London branch of JPMC, even though he was not a Minister at the time, an Italian newspaper, IRPIMEDIA reports.read more

ON THE PRODUCTION OF OVER 6,000 ITEMS/PRODUCTS FROM NATURAL PETROLEUM RESOURCES
By Zik Gbemre
Why is the Nigerian government only thinking of and focusing on “quick returns” derived from the export of natural gas and crude oil without considering investing in the production of these other commodities/items that can be derived from these natural petroleum resources?
Aside from the economic benefits that can be derived from the exports of these finished products/commodities to other foreign countries from Nigeria, the enormous job opportunities this would bring about will greatly reduce the unemployment problems in the country.
If over 6,000 commodities/items that can be derived from natural gas and crude oil are produced locally in Nigeria in high quality obtainable in developed countries, we are sure that nobody in Nigeria will continue to patronize foreign-made goods.
If over 6000 items/products can be derived/gotten from natural gas and crude oil, which Nigeria is naturally endured well-enough with, how come the Nigerian governments over the years, have not thought it necessary to massively invest in this area so as to greatly improve on the nation’s economy, and the same time provide millions of job opportunities for the Nigerian youths? Why is the Nigerian Government only thinking and focusing on the “quick returns” derived from the export of natural gas and crude oil, without any consideration to invest heavily in the production of these other products/items that can be derived from these natural resources?read more

Shell’s UK power retailer to grow by 25% after rival’s default
Sept 27, 2021
LONDON — Royal Dutch Shell’s British power retail business will grow by over a quarter after it took on 255,000 customers from a rival supplier that defaulted following the recent surge in natural gas prices.
Shell Energy will take on the customers from Green Supplier Limited, the British regulator OFGEM and Shell Energy said in separate statements.
Shell Energy, which currently has around 900,000 customers across Britain, said Green’s customers will move to Shell Energy with their credit balances protected and supply uninterrupted.Shell aims to grow its power customer base across the world as part of its strategy to shift away from oil and gas and slash greenhouse gas emissions in the coming decades.

Despite having sent back the router and provided proof of postage/delivery, Shell Energy kept on writing to say I was liable to pay £35 for the ‘unreturned’ router. Having complained THREE (3) times and had the customer service team writing back, assuring me to not worry about it, I then received today a DEBT COLLECTION letter ‘threatening’ me to pay £35 debt that “I OWE”!!!! 2 months since my previous review. Since then my complaint has not been resolved. Engineers not turning up or going to a wrong address.
Every time a 30 pound compensation which is in no comparison to having to take half days off from work every time. Shell Energy is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. For the love of God, do not take your electricity from this company.read more

Shell’s U.S. exit gives investors a sugar rush
September 21, 20211:17 PM BST
LONDON, Sept 21 (Reuters Breakingviews) – Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L), has left the building. The $153 billion Anglo-Dutch oil giant on Monday offloaded 225,000 acres of shale assets in the Permian basin to U.S. rival ConocoPhillips (COP.N) for $9.5 billion in cash.
With oil at $70 per barrel, the price looks on the low side: consultancy Wood Mackenzie estimates the assets are worth more than $13 billion. But at $42,000 an acre it’s roughly in line with recent local deals, according to Berenberg analysts. read more
Avoid Shell Broadband, losts of hidden costs once you leave after your contracts ended!! I found shell’s broadband offer last year at the “money saving expert” webside, he is usually very good to explain your benefits and your costs -unfortunately no mention what’s happen, once your contract finished and you try to leave!
As soon as my new company cancelt my continuing with shell, I got an email that I have to pay £12.– ceasing fee -even my contract ended on the 31.Aug.2021 and the transfer date was the 6.9.2021! I called customer service, they explained: if I’m in contract I have to pay an in-contract ceasing-fee, and now I have to pay an out-of-contract ceasing-fee -unbelievable, never experienced something like this before! To top it all up and add more stress to it, they want the old router back -off course all at my own costs -if I’m not able to do so, they charge me £35.– for it!read more
Shell Energy are the worst energy company I have ever dealt with. I had a tenanted property where the previous tenant had signed up to one of their pay as you go electricity card. It was winter and their very expensive tariff cost me a fortune when i kept topping it up. they blocked my transfer to another company and I had to involve the Energy Ombudsman. I have now sold the property but even now my solicitors can’t get a final bill from them to pay. Avoid at all cost.read more
BP and Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A, RDS.B) are disappointed at being sidelined at the United Nations climate conference which starts October 31 in Glasgow, Wall Street Journal reports, as the oil industry has yet to agree on science-based plans for how it will reduce carbon emissions, a hurdle U.K. organizers set as a prerequisite for involvement in the event.
Both companies reportedly had hoped to be more heavily involved in the event after committing to plans to pivot away from oil and gas and invest more in low-carbon energy, though they plan to send staff, and BP says CEO Bernard Looney will attend.
Other energy firms, such as utilities SSE (OTCPK:SSEZY) and Scottish Power, which is owned by Ibderdrola (OTCPK:IBDRY), are among the event’s sponsors after their emissions reduction plans were approved by the organizers.
Meanwhile, a new United Nations analysis of country pledges under the Paris climate agreement says global emissions would be 16% higher in 2030 than in 2010, far from the 45% reduction by 2030 that scientists say is needed to stave off serious climate change.
HOUSTON — Royal Dutch Shell sold its oil and gas production in the Permian Basin, the biggest American oil field, to ConocoPhillips for $9.5 billion in cash on Monday.
The deal marks a turning point for Shell, which had put considerable effort into developing the 225,000-acre field since buying it from Chesapeake Energy nine years ago, expanding its production to about 200,000 barrels a day.read more

Competition watchdog gives firms deadline on ending ‘greenwashing’
Rob Davies: Mon 20 Sep 2021 16.02 BST
The UK competition watchdog has given companies that make misleading claims about their environmental credentials until the end of the year to stop the practice, which is known as “greenwashing”.
Too many businesses were “falsely taking credit for being green” in order to woo environmentally minded consumers, the Competition and Markets Authority said.
Also in 2020, the Advertising Standards Authority clamped down on several major companies, including the airline Ryanair, the carmaker BMW and the oil producer Shell, over greenwashing adverts.read more

Roger Cox: The lawyer who brought Shell to its knees
Cox may come from Maastricht, but this climate lawyer has developed an international reputation thanks to his role in a case against Royal Dutch Shell. Back in May, the Limburger won what former Vice President Al Gore called a David vs Goliath legal battle that forced Shell to reduce its emissions by 45 percent by 2030.

Customer Service NON EXISTENT: Received letter stating engineer would be out between 1-6pm no one turned up, not even a call,to my mobile. Called customer services to find out when engineer would be out and was told I didn’t need one and was connected. I said I was 89yrs and couldn’t get down to switches and didn’t know how to connect to WiFi, they hung up on me. Called again for complaints to let them know how I was treated and would be expecting the £25 credit which states on their website you receive for engineer not showing up, she hung up on me again!Date of experience: 03 October 2023
This company are appalling: This company are appalling. They come out as the cheapest on comparison sites but beware they then up their charges to an extortionate amount once you are with them.
They wanted us to pay over £500 a month for a 2 person household. They also made us pay over £1000 stating we were in debit on our account despite paying a really high monthly direct debit.
We are now with another company, pay less than half of the amount that shell charged us and are already in £600 credit after 4 months.

Bullying vulnerable old people is…: Bullying vulnerable old people is pretty low, and that is what they are doing. Message sent saying more than doubling their direct debit when they have never been in debit and we have to keep getting the overpayments back by wasting our time on the telephone to them. We keep putting in complaints which presumably go into the bin.
I really do thing there should be some legal comeback on these bullies.
In any other part of life just taking more money than you are due would either be theft or fraud. What makes them think they are above the law and decency? Arrogance and corporate targets for deposit amounts, and they are probably getting 5% on your overpayments, means their profits swell and anyone who is on a profit related bonus gets a bit more at your cost.
If you think about it, if Shell Energy have 1m customers, and they each have at least £500 overpayments in SE's deposit account then SE are raking in almost £2.1m per month in interest.
They should be made to pay customers 5% on any money they hold over £100 to discourage them ripping everyone off and defrauding vulnerable old people.

The installer who came to install the…: The installer who came to install the smart meter for me was very rude. First of all, he was late - he arrived at 5.20 pm. He raised his voice to me (I warned him 2-3 times not to shout at me). He wanted to see the radiator controller. When I said that there was no problem, but he had to change his shoe covers, he was wearing them outside - it was raining and he was walking on the ground -- HE SAID IT WAS NOT A PALACE AND HE WENT AWAY. He also threatened me that he would disconnect my gas. I also did not receive a home monitor that would control my gas consumption. I also didn't sign the completion of work for him - the signature I gave him before starting work, he said that he couldn't start doing anything without it... That's not the way to do it. It's a showcase of your company, which isn't very pretty.

Bye bye Shell: Fixed price came to an end. Payment is going from £153 to £243 despite the spot gas price being historically low.
They offered a fixed rate tariff, takes the price down to £226, the catch? I must take a Smart Energy meter that I don't want and have never wanted, and have declined SMS who have phoned me easily 15 to 20 times since I've been with Shell Energy.
I've told them every time to stop phoning me, I don't want a smart meter, but still they do it. Albeit I haven't had a call for a few months, maybe they've stopped. I don't know. But not before telling them over and over again to stop phoning me.
I also used to get nagged regularly with text messages to book a Smart Meter despite never wanting one and making that clear from the first time they asked.
Now shell is giving me a high price, with a tiny discount if I accept a smart meter.
I started my switch to Octopus energy today. £217 a month, albeit a variable rate, so the Corrupt Neo Marxist government can treat me and everyone else like an ATM machine to fund the hotels for illegals, and the Ukraine war that had nothing to do with us.
This after they put 28+ energy companies out of business by pretending to care about people with a Price Cap, now the greedy corrupt energy companies have no incentive to compete against each other, since the corrupt Marxist government killed off almost all free market competition.
