POOR POOR,
Cancelled my broadband last year and they are still requesting money. I have late payments on my account and my Experian Credit File has taken battering. Come on Shell have some respect for your customers and stop doing this. No wonder you have so many bad reviews. I want a Shell member of staff to contact me and do three things. read more

Absolutely useless! Not a brain cell between them! Keep getting told someone will call me back, which never happens, then when you call them they’re attitude is absolutely stinking! If you’re looking for a broadband provider, AVOID THESE CLOWNS!
Terrible service!!!!!!! their website doesn’t allow for inputting meter readings in Jun 2022 to Dec 2022. Then i called them and provide meter readings I’m still getting estimated bills. And then i submitted the readings online in recent months. They mentioned that they never received the accurate the meter reading in until this month, and provide inaccurate bill for over the last 10 months. read more

BP agrees to buy Shell’s stake in Australian Browse gas project
By Samuel Mckeith: REUTERS April 29, 20237:26 AM GMT+1
SYDNEY, April 29 (Reuters) – BP (BP.L) has agreed to buy rival giant Shell’s (SHEL.L) 27% stake in the Browse joint venture, expanding its holding in Australia’s largest untapped gas resource in a move that could improve the development prospects for the long-stalled project.
The Browse project, estimated to cost $20.5 billion, has been stuck on the drawing board for years but is now being considered as a replacement for ageing gas fields to supply the North West Shelf LNG (liquefied natural gas) plant. read more

Shell tries to quash air quality fears as bad smells and elevated benzene counts emanate from Beaver County chemical plant
ANYA LITVAK
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
[email protected]
When a terrible odor blanketed the area around the Shell cracker plant earlier this month, residents had only their noses and sporadically high readings from public air monitors to assess the situation.
Many were left wondering what they were exposed to and whether it was dangerous.
On Tuesday, Shell officials held a virtual meeting to discuss the air monitoring results surrounding the event. read more

Shell pulls out of large carbon capture project in northern England
By Ron Bousso and Susanna Twidale: 25 April 2023
LONDON (Reuters) -Shell has decided to pull out of the Northern Endurance Partnership, one of Britain’s largest carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects aimed at decarbonising industrial clusters.
Shell said it had decided to pull out of the NEP project after a review of its strategy and portfolio and will focus on the Acorn CCS project in Scotland, for which it is the technical developer.
“We remain committed to helping the (British) government realise its ambition of four industrial CCS clusters by 2030,” the company said.
Shell Chief Executive Wael Sawan has carried out a review of several of the group’s emerging low-carbon businesses since taking office in January. read more

SHELL CALLS POLICE ON LORD SENTAMU
On Friday, April 21, Christian Climate Action held the No Faith In Fossil Fuels Service with charities such as Tearfund, CAFOD, Christian Aid, A Rocha, Operation Noah and Green Christian. From this service we walked via Shell headquarters to Parliament. When we stopped at Shell, Lord John Sentamu tried to deliver a letter. However Shell locked their doors and would not allow him to enter. We were then notified by the police that Shell had contacted them regarding Lord Sentamu trying to enter.
Here is the letter that Lord Sentamu was trying to deliver.
Wael Sawan
Chief Executive Officer, Shell plc
c/o Shell Centre, York Road
London, SE1 7NA
Dear Mr. Sawan,
‘The obvious is that which is never seen
Until someone expresses it simply.’ Khalil Gibran
‘Fossil fuels are a dead end — for our planet, for humanity and for economies.’ António Guterres
The science is clear. Summarising a recent IPCC report, the head of the UN said we are ‘firmly on track toward an unlivable world’”. The International Energy Agency’s 1.5°C report states that from
December 2021 any new fossil fuel extraction project is inconsistent with a 1.5°C pathway. read more

Never experienced such terrible customer service – clearly got no process in place for working effectively with OpenReach, delay after delay, engineers turning up without a clue what they are doing. I’d avoid at all costs as I’ve wasted 2 months trying to get this sorted. When I told them I was cancelling and going to BT because they will likely be better at wrangling OpenReach the operator just said “yeah probably” – even their own people know it’s not good enough. read more

Shell energy has the worst technical service and customer service. I have exams and I am without internet for a week!!!
Shell broadband used to be decent. Now it is a pile of rubbish, not worth paying for. Junk.
Stressful shambles. I was transferred to Shell Energy broadband from Post Office Broadband and initially it seemed ok. When I had an issue with my connection it was obvious a cable outside needed replacing and an engineer agreed. I was told I wouldn’t be charged but it appeared on my bill. I couldn’t get through on the phone or web chat but emailed and after 3 attempts there was an apology and I was told not to pay. Then another payment demand. Then another apology. Now I’ve just been contacted by a debt collection company. Talk about stressful! read more

Ukraine calls on energy giant Shell to tap its massive ‘blood money’ profits from Russia’s invasion and donate $1 billion to rebuild the country
BY TRISTAN BOVE
April 19, 2023 at 6:15 PM GMT+1
Oil and gas companies reported some of their highest annual profits in history earlier this year, cashing in on gas prices that soared because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But critics say energy giants are indirectly prolonging the war with their record revenues, with some Ukrainian officials even calling for a redistribution of profits to make things right. read more

Breaking up with Russia is hard for many Western firms, despite war
By Robyn Dixon: April 15, 2023 at 7:21 a.m. EDT
RIGA, Latvia — Only a small percentage of the hundreds of companies that promised to leave Russia after its invasion of Ukraine have exited, according to several groups keeping a scorecard — and for those that dawdled, departing has only become more expensive and complicated.
But leaving can be complex. Four days after the invasion, Shell announced it was leaving Russia and later wrote off its nearly 27.5 percent stake in the Sakhalin-2 LNG facility in the Far East at $1.6 billion. This month, an unconfirmed Russian newspaper report suddenly surfaced that Putin had given permission for the company to repatriate $1.2 billion from the sale of its stake in Russia’s Novatek. Shell had no comment. read more

Odors, pollution leave residents uneasy as Shell reports release at cracker plant
CHRISSY SUTTLES Beaver County Times: 14 April 2023
POTTER TWP. – Strong odors from a “release of hydrocarbons” at Shell’s wastewater treatment plant are permeating parts of Beaver County.
Those living, traveling and working near Shell’s ethane cracker plant in Potter Township said the “kerosene-like” scent has persisted for at least two days, causing watering, burning eyes, headaches, nausea and other respiratory issues.
“It smells like if you burned rotten potatoes but used garage chemicals to do it,” said Mary Beth Eastman, a Beaver County resident who lives less than five miles from the plant. “I had a headache all afternoon yesterday, plus nausea. I have a headache again today. My daughter has been coughing for two days. She’s 12.” read more

Dutch government promises support to Shell to cut CO2 emissions
Reuters: Thu, 13 April 2023 at 1:20 pm BST
·
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -The Dutch government on Thursday said it would support oil and gas company Shell in its efforts to reduce its CO2 and nitrogen emissions in the Netherlands in the coming years.
The government said it would look at building infrastructure and accelerating permitting procedures needed for projects that would help Shell, one of the country’s largest polluters, reach its goal of cutting 3.9 megatons of CO2 emissions from its Dutch plants by 2030. read more

Shell: Solar And Wind Are Growing Faster Than LNG Ever Did
By Haley Zaremba – Apr 09, 2023, 2:00 PM CDT
- Shell: Wind and solar production capacities are growing faster than liquefied natural gas and nuclear ever did.
- Government incentives and energy security issues have given renewables another bump.
- While solar and wind are seeing a much steeper growth trajectory than nuclear and liquefied natural gas did, energy demand, too, has seen an extreme growth trend.
Wind and solar production capacities are growing faster than liquefied natural gas and nuclear ever did. A recent report from Shell Plc examined and compared the growth trajectories of these four energy forms, which have all emerged within the past 60 years, and which tell a very clear story about how the global energy sector is growing and changing. Put simply: our youngest and cleanest energy technologies are the fastest growing the world has seen in at least 50 years. read more
