HAKLUYT & COMPANY SPYING FOR SHELL

Despite all that happened, Shell did not disclose to the Police, or to me, its close association with Hakluyt. An organisation skilled in the intelligence gathering tactics that had been directed against us, which were, as indicated, used against other parties also perceived to be enemies of Shell.

The extract below should be read in the context of the fact that we were besieged by undercover activity during the run-up to the SMART High Court Trial – the climax of our litigation alleging that Shell had stolen Intellectual Property from our company Don Marketing. Shell brought a Counterclaim amid a barrage of aggressive threats and sinister activity directed against us. Shell did not disclose its close connection with a private spy firm Hakluyt & Company.

    Shell Cloak and Dagger activities

Now we have the latest bombshell – the burglaries carried out against people associated with our SMART claim, including key witnesses. Brief cases have been forced open, papers examined, including privileged documents between DM and its lawyers. The latter included a brief issued to Dr Mary Vitoria QC – a document Shell’s lawyers recently failed to obtain after making an application to the Courts (which was dismissed with costs).

Regular visitors to this website will be aware of my frequent references to the sinister London based spy firm Hakluyt & Co and its close connection with its ethically challenged client of more than two decades, Royal Dutch Shell.

Our own dealings with Hakluyt in relation to Shell undercover activity against us was so extraordinary that nothing about Hakluyt and its connections and activities would surprise us any more. read more

Groningen Earthquakes: When will NAM stop producing gas and ‘de-book’ the reserves?

Printed below is an English translation of an article by Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad suggesting that future costs for the *NAM may be higher than the benefits and if so, NAM joint owners Shell/Exxon may stop producing from the Groningen gas field and ‘de-book’ the reserves.

Rising costs and declining production end gas extraction by NAM in Groningen into a realistic scenario, think Lucia van Geuns and Jilles van den Beukel.

Plan for gas reduction brings NAM Exit Closer

After the earthquake in Zeerijp (January 8) a plan is now being worked out to reduce the extraction of Groningen gas. Minister Wiebes (Economic Affairs and Climate, VVD) aims to reduce production as quickly as possible from 21.6 to 12 billion cubic meters per year.

He has informed 200 large-scale users – including companies in the chemical and food sector – that they have four years to switch from this Groningen gas. read more

Shell, Eni Wrongly Blames 89 Oil Spills In Nigeria On Theft, Sabotage, Says Amnesty International

London based rights group, Amnesty International (AI), says Royal Dutch Shel and Italian oil multinational, Eni, might have wrongly attributed 89 oil spills in Nigeria’s Delta to theft and sabotage. According to AI, 46 of the pollution incidents were triggered by Shel and 43 by Eni. “Amnesty International researchers have identified that at least 89 spills may have been wrongly labeled as theft or sabotage when in fact they were caused by ‘operational’ faults,” the London-based group said in a report released yesterday.

Malabu Oil Deal: Shell, Eni Submit Probe Reports To US Dept Of Justice

BY SAHARA REPORTERS, NEW YORK: MAR 13, 2018

Multinational oil companies, Royal Dutch Shel and Eni, have voluntarily lodged files of the charges entered against them in Italy and Nigeria in the probe of Malabu oil deal to the US Department of Justice.

Both oil firms had tried to purchase the offshore petroleum block in Nigeria, with proven reserves of 9 billion barrels.

No investigation has been opened up on the companies in the U.S, but their shares are traded on the country’s stock exchange.

The companies are trying to forestall questions from the U.S government ahead of their cross-continent trials in Italy, Netherlands, and Nigeria. read more

Shell, Eni preempt any U.S. probe over Nigeria with filings

    Libby George: 13 MARCH 2018

LONDON (Reuters) – Oil giants Royal Dutch Shell and Eni have voluntarily filed to U.S. authorities internal probes into how they acquired a giant field in Nigeria as the companies seek to fight corruption allegations in Europe and Africa.

The filings, to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), do not mean U.S. authorities are investigating Shell or Eni.

But the move shows the companies are trying to preempt questions from the United States as they face one of the oil industry’s biggest-ever graft trials in Italy, to begin in May in Milan, a pending trial in Nigeria and an investigation in the Netherlands. read more

LNG is the new shale oil with the U.S. as disruptor-in-chief

LNG IS THE FASTEST GROWING GAS SUPPLY SOURCE

(SOURCE: SHELL INTERPRETATION OF WOOD MACKENZIE Q4 2017 DATA)

    By Clyde Russell

LAUNCESTON, Australia, March 13 (Reuters) – Crude oil is likely to spring to mind if one is asked to name a commodity where the United States is disrupting the market by becoming a swing producer and challenging traditional trade flows, especially in fast-growing Asian markets.

But it’s increasingly likely that the United States is about to play the same role in liquefied natural gas (LNG), as it ramps up production in an already well-supplied market. read more

Oil and gas extraction causing destructive earthquakes in Groningen and Oklahoma

Printed below is an English translation of an article published today by the Dutch Financial Times, Financieele Dagblad. It is partly about NAM Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij BV., a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell and ExxonMobil each owning a 50% share in the company responsible for the earthquake blighted Groningen Gas Field and the consequential potential bill for untold billions in damages. The article discusses the similarity with recent earthquake activity in Oklahoma arising from shale oil and gas extraction.

Do the ‘shale farmers’ go after the Groningers?

Jeroen Groot • Economics & Politics

The bottom trembles and walls tear in Oklahoma. Yes, that sounds familiar, and the cause is also: oil and gas extraction. Is a ‘Groningen scenario’ taking place in the US, including shutting down the taps? Then it quickly ends with low oil prices.

On Friday it was hit again in the US state of Oklahoma: an earthquake of 3.6 on the Richter scale. As far as known, this quake did not cause any damage, but that was different on Sunday 4 March. Then the places Enid and Breckenridge, 150 kilometers north of Oklahoma City, were hit twice in rapid succession by a quake with a force of 4.2.

‘Houses with cracks in the walls, doors that can no longer open or close. People reacted quite startled, ‘Mike Honigsberg tells us by telephone from Enid. Honigsberg is director of the Garfield County Emergency Management, a kind of crisis center for calamities such as large fires and nowadays also earthquakes. These are, as in Groningen, associated with the extraction of oil and gas. read more

Coal is out and oil is fading, making natural gas the fossil fuel of choice

Royal Dutch Shell CEO Ben van Beurden speaks at the CERAWeek conference at the Hilton Americas, Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in Houston. (Photo: Karen Warren / Houston Chronicle)

Coal is too dirty. Oil is too messy. And renewables are too intermittent. But natural gas is just right. Energy companies of every stripe have fallen in love with the stepchild of fossil fuels. No longer considered an annoying byproduct of oil drilling, natural gas’ multiple applications and relative cleanliness guarantee it a place in the future energy mix. FULL ARTICLE read more
