The new boss of oil giant Shell in Aberdeen officially starts in the post today.
Previously, Glen Cayley (right) who has 30 years experience in the industry was based with the company in The Hague.
The new technical vice-president for Shell Upstream Europe is no stranger to the Granite City, however.
He gained a post-graduate degree in petroleum geology from Aberdeen University after graduating from Liverpool University with a BSc in geology.
