Energy

• Cairn Energy, which is planning India’s second-largest initial share sale, sold a stake worth 37bn rupees (£433m) to Petronas and other investors, raising the value of the IPO by almost a fifth.

• European energy prices will rise if Russia delays Royal Dutch Shell’s Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project, said Chris Finlayson, head of Shell’s Russian operations.

• Granby Oil & Gas, which has operations in the North Sea and the Philippines, widened its loss in the first half on higher exploration costs.
