HOUSTON — This fall, Shell is participating in one of the largest and most successful marketing promotions in McDonald’s history with its MONOPOLY 2008 Game, the National Association of Shell Marketers (NASM) reported.
Consumers receive game pieces with the purchase of select McDonald’s menu items, and game pieces include a code that can be entered online at the MONOPOLY 2008 Game Web sitePlayatMcD.comfor a chance to roll virtual dice. If the players roll corresponds with a “Free Parking” space, he or she will win free Shell gasoline, according to the report.
More than 4,000 players will win $50 in Shell gasoline, amounting to one every 15 minutes between Oct. 7, and Nov. 17, totaling more than $200,000 in free fuel, the report stated.
The Shell logo will be featured on select packaging, point of purchase ads, e-mail blasts and online, which will also feature a link to the Shell Passionate Experts Web site.
