Left us with no service and no assistance for 5 weeks!

Had our broadband and phone line service switched to Shellenergy from the Post Office, worst move EVER! We lost our internet and phone service during storm Eunice and despite phoning Shell every day for a week we were just left hanging on for 20 minutes each time without ever getting to talk to anyone. No help either using the online ‘chat’ service (having to go into a kind neighbour for internet access, as we had none). I then raised an official complaint, which had one response asking for dates an engineer could call to inspect the fault, to which we offered 3 dates. None of which were confirmed or responded to. Despite waiting in, no engineer ever called! Many more emails were sent to Shellenergy on the complaints procedure, NONE of which were ever responded to! We are pensioners with health issues who rely on the internet and phone and Shellenergy left us without any service for 5 weeks and the issue has only been (easily) resolved by switching to another supplier. And to add insult to injury, they sent an email saying they would be invoicing us for the service up to date and including an early exit fee! Outrageous behaviour! For a multi billion £ company, they have no customer support or care, clearly focussed on profit rather than honest service!

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking company never ever had anything SO BAD!! They have stolen my money that I had left with Green Energy absolutely no idea where they have used it or what they have done with it!! Sent in my meter readings both gas and electric on Monday evening 28th March as I had a flight on Tuesday at 06.00am and guess what – it is now the 6th April and NO BILL total farce!! I have tried time and time again to speak to someone and I get out through to SOUTH AFRICA I cannot understand what is being said to me this is THE WORST OF THE WORST COMPANY EVER I have had enough now they can take me to court!!!! Oh yes AND THEY NEVER RESPOND!! I have been promised calls and guess what NOTHING

Phone Line waiting times 1hr plus with no clue of what position you are in. I kept getting reloaded back to position 1 with the chat box until I gave up

Worst broadband company ever used. If I could give zero I would. Speed awful. Over 1 hr wait times phone calls 2 mpxl download speed and awful customer service.

Worst broadband company ever used. If I could give zero I would.
Speed awful.
Informed by them after being switched from the post office that contract had finished so then transferred to sky.
Then told £56 charge for ending contract early.
After 4 hrs of calls ( three times asking to be called back by a supervisor which they never did), leaving a complaint online customer service which they did not respond to and then being charged £56 I would never recommend them. Over 1 hr wait times phone calls 2 mpxl download speed and awful customer service.
Good luck if you have an issue. ( sky in the meantime have been brilliant, easy to contact and super helpful) read more

Flood of customer complaints about Shell Energy continues

Awful, you can’t get through to any help, over 40 minutes wait, then when you explain your problem they put you on hold again, don’t come back and the phone goes dead. This has happened three times.

Worst company I’ve ever had to deal with.

Am 5 days into contract with this sub standard company and have had no Internet access. After 5 days of being messed around they now tell me it could take another 5 days for engineers to sort things out. Tried to cancel my contract with them but they will not do this without me incurring charges for a service they have failed to provide. Worst company I have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. Get your service from any other company, this one is useless. read more

Shell 2021 oil spills in Nigeria double in volume

LONDON, April 5 (Reuters) – Shell (SHEL.L) said on Tuesday the volume of crude oil spills caused by sabotage in Nigeria’s oil-rich Delta more than doubled to 3,300 tonnes last year, a level last seen in 2016.

While the volume of spills rose, the number of major spills fell to 106 in 2021 from 122 incidents the previous year, Shell said in its sustainability report.

It said in 2020, oil spills in Nigeria stood at 1,500 tonnes. read more

Shell Broadband Worst ISP I’ve been with in over 20 years

“…the connection drops on average half a dozen times a day, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for longer. 
If you call customer service, expect to be on hold for 40 – 50 minutes every time. I have so far spent around 4 hours on the telephone to them. Even British Airways is a shining beacon of excellent customer service compared to Shell Broadband.”

AMSTERDAM, April 1 (Reuters) – The Dutch government on Friday said it expected to compensate NAM, a joint venture between Shell RDSa.L and Exxon XOM.N, around 7.5 billion euros ($8.3 billion) for filling the Norg gas facility the past three years, with most of the costs coming this year due to the current high price of gas.

In a statement, the Economic Affairs Ministry cited “the current historic high gas prices” and the exact amount would be determined at the end of the gas year, which runs through to Sept. 30. In all NAM will have purchased 8.8 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas on the open market to fill the facility over the past three years. read more

Gazprom PJSC, the single largest provider of natural gas to the European continent, now only accepts ruble payments for supplies of the fuel to so-called ‘unfriendly’ states, including the European Union and the U.K. Shell has at least two long-term contracts that would be affected by this rule, jointly equivalent to about 1.5% of Gazprom’s annual exports to key foreign clients. read more

The former chief financial officer of Shell is set to walk away with a “golden handshake” worth more than £1 million.

Jessica Uhl’s renumeration package will include a £921,000 payment for “loss of office” plus salary paid until June this year and an as yet to be decided annual bonus. In addition, she will continue to receive pension payments and medical benefits until June despite officially stepping down yesterday.

She announced her departure from Shell early last month citing “family reasons”. She took the decision to leave after her position was moved from The Netherlands to London. read more

Since Shell Energy bought the Post Office…

Since Shell Energy bought the Post Office Broadband, I have been trying to cancel my broadband. I have spoken to customer service after huge delays, I have emailed and I have tried navigating their website, all to no avail. It is impossible to cancel apparently.

I am still paying and no one has actioned my requests: it has been over 6 months. It feels like entrapment. I have been singularly unimpressed. read more

We’ve been trying to get an issued resolved since October 2021….admittedly that was Pure Planet who are of course no more… But the transfer to and by Shell has been appalling.

Certainly it is a difficult time for their staff with many pressures no doubt…. But their inability and unwillingness to even start resolving a simple issue (which prevents us paying them any money!!) since the new year gives lie to their claim – “here at Shell Energy we strive to offer exceptional customer service and aim to resolve all queries as swiftly as possible and to the best of our ability.”. read more
