Disgusting service, having bought a new house that needed full renovation, including new boiler, not moved in for 2 months and wanted to arrange gas and electric so tried to open an account only to be told we’re with Shell Energy, then to be sent a bill for £350 when weren’t living here was ridiculous, challenged this by sending pictures of the useage over a week with no reply, just spent an hour on the phone only to be told our “bill is in production so can’t be told what it is but we can go online to our account and view it” we’ve never registered with Shell so this isn’t possible, we can’t move company as Shell have blocked this, it’s now been 3 weeks since we started questioning this bill(s) and now have been told we have to wait 38 days for our complaint to be looked at???????? AVOID SHELL ENERGY AT ALL COSTS
***DO NOT USE SHELL ENERGY***
We had a smart meter installed in 2019 and not long after our bill went from being £500 in credit to owing Shell over £1000. When we questioned this we were told they would investigate this matter and report back to us, They later reported that this was correct and demanded we paid this bill, We tried numerous times to setup a payment plan with promises of calls back to which never happened, They then passed it onto a debt collecting agency, We setup a payment plan with them and paid in full. We have now come to get a mortgage to be told Shell energy put a default on experian which is now preventing us from getting a mortgage. We contacted Shell regarding this and we were told we still owed £93 which we paid on the weekend we today contacted the debt collectors involved and they informed us all the amount was paid in full and we shouldn’t have paid anymore to Shell. Also Shell have refused to remove the default even though we have numerous emails requesting a payment plan which is preventing us from getting a mortgage with a newborn due in 2 months time
Shambolic home utility organisation
Shambolic organisation can’t manage final billing with tenancy change or following the sale of a property. Twice I’ve been promised call backs within two working days, both six working days ago.
