My mother-in-law, 84 yrs old, was switched to Shell Energy via the Post Office a couple of years ago, without consultation. She’s never received a paper bill, never set up an online account and had 1 initial letter which she forgot all about..
Having early memory loss issues & a service outrageously slow, she thought her laptop had broken.. @£32 per mth (!!)
We switched companies, providing notification & she’s literally received dozens of threatening emails since, demanding money for a router they didn’t provide, termination fees for a contract she never signed and attempts to access a final bill I already paid.. I’ve called many times, explained the circumstances-they said they would stop.
This is harassment of an elderly woman, shame on you. read more

The work service I have ever had in my life. I was sent a broadband that didn’t work. I phoned Shell and informed them . I then sent the broadband back and for the last 7 months they’ve been harassing me saying I owe them £350 for a service I never used and a service I sent back. It is now starting to affect my mental. I can’t handle the threats anymore, I have called them to try and resolve the matter but nothing seems to be getting down about it. I would not recommend this company at all. Never use this organisation for your phone line or broadband! Their customer service is disgusting and they have failed to re-connect my vulnerable sisters phone line, which means she has no form of outside communication and her well-being is currently compromised because Shell Energy will not help me to help her. I have spent hours calling people who will not help me at all… they seem to want to annoy me and have no desire to help my sister. Never use this organisation because they don’t care about their customers… only about making money!! read more

DO NOT USE SHELL. We have had the worst internet connection for months now and have even had to upgrade our phone contracts just to get online. We have contacted shell several times, who have done absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. Terrible customer service for Broadband Customers !!

I haven’t had my first bill yet and I spent so much time holding the line with their customer service. Never manage to have a resolution but only be passed between customer service, retention service and technical support.. not a single person has taken ownership of the issue or got anywhere close to giving me a solution. I’m dreading the thought I’m now stuck with them for over a year. What a massive mistake !!
PS Not once I’ve been given the name of the person I was talking to; this makes me very worried about the authenticity of the previous reviews praising individuals for their “great” service !! read more

I’ve been with no internet during 5 days. They do not answer emails and if you try to contact them you will need to wait minimum one hour and they will just tell you wait untill midnight and if it does not work after that call back…

Threatening automated phone call

If you have broadband and homephone from this company and pay quarterly be warned. My bill was sent out late and I paid by return of post. The money was taken from my bank account and I thought no more about it.

Then I received a suspicious automated phone call threatening to cut off my phone and broadband. Thinking this sounded like a scam particularly as payment was requested over the phone I phoned Shell to point out someone was making scam calls on their behalf, since I knew I’d paid the bill. But it was not a scam they were deadly serious. ‘Bills were sent out late and it takes a while for payments to be received in our accounts’.
What a pathetic response from Shell! I’d expect a commitment to send bills on time, set realistic deadlines and to cease threatening automated calls. Was this irrelevant response also written by a machine?? read more

Avoid at all costs

I didn’t ask to be a Shell Broadband customer. I signed up for Post Office broadband, but Shell bought them out and existing PO Broadband customers were forced to migrate to Shell or pay an early termination penalty.  Shell customer service is hopeless, you waste huge amounts of time on the phone trying to contact these people, the broadband speed is glacially slow (and my broadband was meant to be fast but it was hopeless).  I’ve just got rid of them and had to pay £157 for the privilege. Don’t even think about becoming a Shell Broadband customer, it’s not worth the time, money and stress. It’s a rip off. read more

Another fine mess by Shell.

Just had my first bill after changing to fibre broadband and it should have been £32.88 per month. I didn’t get a first bill and was told I was in credit from paying in advance for my original broadband package of 2mbps with Post Office when it was migrated.
So no get billed is £196.54!!!! I ring and spend over half hour talking first to a computer then to Nazeem who says I had a call out charge added. I said yes as Openreach left cables to 5 houses disconnected after moving a telegraph pole. I was asked again if I requested a call out, well obviously as I had no phone/internet! Nazem contradicts a previous message that said if the engineer is called out for any reason there is a charge! Shell already paid me a weeks compensation for loss of service and yet I am still billed. Also no mention of how much I was in credit from my pre-change-over contract. Its like Fred Carnos Circus run by people with no idea on how to treat customers. As someone else said, another Talk Talk type company. Avoid at any price! read more

So with that in mind let’s get down to how we can all play our part to bring this company down legally. Money Money Money,  they cannot survive without money. Boycott all shell products and services, tell family and friends to do likewise. Get on to social media spread the word. Word and mouth will spread like a forest fire it just needs you to do your bit. Shareholder a perfect storm is coming, will your shares become worthless, should you even be supporting this bad company. The top brass at shell need to know what’s happening, their email address is on the internet fill their inboxes with your truthfully thoughts. The people in the UK deserve better lets get rid of this crap company from our shores. read more

This company has the very worst customer service in the planet. I was without internet for days. I work online and couldn’t work for 3 days and a half. They never sent an engineer. I saw an Openreach vsn, and the guy was good enough to come and check my connection. It was the router. The engineer sent his notes, and Shell should have sent the router. They wouldn’t. It was not the engineer that they sent, although it was an Openreach engineer, who was the only person who knew what SERVICE is. Horrible, unhelpful, terrible company. Good riddance. read more
