Royal Dutch/Shell, the oil giant, is to unify the boards of its Dutch and British holding companies as a “minimum” concession to shareholders who want change, according to a senior industry source.
Separately, a joint venture between state-run PetroChina and foreign energy firms, including Royal Dutch/Shell, has collapsed, ending the companies’ involvement in an $8 billion (£4.4 billion) gas pipeline traversing China.
