Current Publication Date: 09/05/2008
Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL) has announced the retirement of Mr Andy Pyle, who has been Managing Director of SEPIL and Country Chairman of all Shell Companies in Ireland since June 2002.
Mr Pyle, who has worked for Shell for the past 32 years, is to retire on May 31. Mr Terry Nolan, currently Deputy Managing Director, will succeed him.
A chartered electrical engineer by profession, Mr Pyle was appointed Managing Director of Enterprise Energy Ireland (subsequently Shell E&P Ireland) following its purchase by Shell in 2002.
Paying tribute to Andy Pyles time in Ireland, Mr John Gallagher, Vice President Technical, Shell E&P Europe said: Andy has had a long and fruitful career with Shell. During the past six years he applied his great energy and made a significant personal commitment to the Corrib gas project. Andy led the business in Ireland through some very testing times. He has contributed hugely to the significant progress the project has made in recent years, especially at Bellanaboy, which is expected to be commissioned and ready for gas production by autumn 2009.
Terry Nolan, who joined the Corrib Gas Project as Deputy Managing Director in mid-2006, will succeed Mr Pyle. A native of Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, Mr Nolan joined Shell International in 1978 and has worked in various technical and management roles in oil and gas exploration and production in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
