ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) – Shell Oil Co. is contributing $500,000 to the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust to help conserve wildlife habitat in southwest Wyoming.

The money will support the multiple uses of natural resources across some 200,000 acres.

Russ Ford of Shell says the company is proud to help enhance the state’s wildlife and agricultural heritage as part of the federal Healthy Lands Initiative.

The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Healthy Lands Initiative is a federal program to manage natural resources that support multiple uses, including livestock grazing, farming, recreation, oil and gas production, historic values and wildlife habitat.

The Wyoming project is a cooperative effort involving landowners and conservation and grazing organizations.
