The Contra Costa County Health Services has reported that there is a fire at Shell Refinery in Martinez. There is no shelter in place at this time. There was a false alarm for a fire at this facility last week.
HazMat staff are responding to a fire at the Shell Refinery in Martinez. The fire is causing a small amount of smoke. There is no shelter-in-place but people with pre-existing respiratory issues such as asthma should avoid the area. More info will be updated as it becomes available.
There was a fire at the nearby Chevron facility just last week, sending more than 5,000 people to seek medical assistance — mostly for breathing difficulties.
