Shell Malaysia To Invest Big On Offshore Sabah

MIRI, May 13 (Bernama) -- Shell Malaysia Exploration and Production (SMEP) says it is ready to invest a substantial amount for their exploration and production activities particularly in the development of oil wells in deepwater offshore Sabah.

A Shell internal email circulated yesterday notified Shell employees in Malaysia of the tragic death of a Shell contractor who collapsed during an emergency drill exercise which was held in the control room of an offshore platform, located in Sarawak waters.

Shell Exploration and Production official Wee Yiaw Hin circulated the email of 13 July 2005 entitled: Death Offshore Sarawak. He expressed “profound regret” and advised that the immediate efforts to try to revive the unnamed Shell contractor were unsuccessful and the individual was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. read more
