Shell have been reported to OFGEM and The Serious Fraud Office. The Maximum they can charge customers in my area for electric is 36p last october the put my bill upto in excess of 39p and in january to 41p + According to Citizens advice this is illegal. Check you bills and if they are overcharging you report to Citizens Advice and seriuous fraud office. The more who do the more chance there is of them bveing prosecuted and you getting compensation read more

Awful service

Awful service, customer care at it’s very worst! The phone and broadband goes down, you call them and they don’t help. In fact they try to charge you to fix a problem that isn’t even your fault. Yet you are forced to pay for a service that doesn’t work

Move over B GAS there’s a bigger crook in town

Just when I thought I’d met all the cowboy’s in the utility game another one rears it’s head. After leaving Shell in January this year I’m glad to say they will never see a penny of my cash ever again in any way shape or form. They screwed up my broadband and now they’ve screwed me on electric and gas. Probably the worst energy and broadband cowboy’s out there. read more

Avoid Shell

Shell broadband is awful. Poor signal.
When you do get a signal it drops off.
No person to call for help and they send you email instructions – no good if you have no internet and have to use mobile data.
When you can read your emails they send you the same information over and over again

Complete and absolute nightmare

Complete and absolute nightmare. Where can I start been with them sine 2018 no problem smart meter reading always worked. Then in January 2023 smart meter failed to communicate so an estimate bill was generated wait for it £2500 for one month!!. I immediately phoned and complained they advised it would be corrected in February bill it wasn’t another bill for £1500 so phoned and asked to make a proper complaint I was transferred through to complaints department who said they would sort this out and contact me now at end of Feb and still waiting for them to contact me as they said they would. My bill is now showing i owe Shell £3800 for two months gas and this is not including electric. read more

AVOID, AVOID, AVoID!
I’m on a fixed broadband contact but have just been told my bill is being increased from April, the contract is ‘FIXED’ but they are increasing the price only 2 months into an 18 months contract. Scam, a big scam and they won’t let me leave without paying £97.93. The service they provide is horrendous too, just checked the internet speed at 16:55pm and it’s upload 0.72 mbps. You read it right, “0.72”! Upload and 12.9 download. We had lower readings from them on different times/days. read more

A new level of awful

Phoned up to tell them a move date. It was like I’d ask them to solve the meaning of life. Got transferred 7 times and then ended up back at he original South African call centre. They do not have a clue what they’re doing. Completely and utterly hopeless.

Disgusting company and inept customer service

Phoned 1 week ago in regards to faulty gas meter and told new one installed 2 months away. New estimated bill is 5 times higher than highest usage on any month over last 12months. Phoned to query, transferred 6 times due to customer service not being able to transfer to relevant department. Promised an email confirming what we spoke of but nothing received and also customer service adviser refused to escalate call as she was clearly not understanding my enquiry. Download speeds of less than 6MBPS when the package I pay for alleges 15 to 17 MBPS. When queried the allegation was that the fault lay with my internal wiring. Having attempted all Shell’s suggested tests, no improvement. Do not waste your money, they don’t care once they’ve got it!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Never under any circumstances get broadband with this company. After at least 15 phone calls, multiple transfers per call, and over two months of waiting, the broadband I ordered is still not working. They’ve tried their best to resolve complaints, but the inconvenience they’ve caused will not be resolved easily. I could forgive that if my broadband at least works, but due to a technical issue, it has still not been done. They expect it wont be working for a total of 3 months after my order date. Additionally, the customer website never works, meaning I can’t check any of my payment details or other information. Never use this company’s broadband. read more

Absolutely appalling customer service from untrained, incompetent staff.
Having made multiple requests over an eight month period, for a new smart meter due to mine not working, they finally installed a new meter which also does not work. I’ve received conflicting information as to next steps and they have little interest in fixing this.
They take out their own choice of direct debit each month, in spite of me setting this to a higher amount via their website.
I have wasted many hours in trying to resolve this, all to no avail. I will now charge to any other provider. None could be as awful as Shell. DO NOT CHOOSE SHELL ENERGY read more

Awful Company AVOID!!!

Awful Company! I was with Shell Energy for nearly 3 years and nothing but hassle. Terrible customer service! Seem to get no reply! Ended up getting a whopping great bill (due to not resolving the issue as no one would respond to my emails or answer my questions on the phone) I am struggling to pay this bill as its quite big so went through stepchange and even through stepchange shell play up all the time. Now asking for full balance to be paid by March. Joke of a company. You will certainly not be seeing me ever again! I am now with Eon and they are great! read more

Electricity Spend data still not supported on the App after Shell installed ‘smart’ meters they knew didn’t work back in April 2022. Still no fix and no word of when this will be fixed. read more

Terrible customer service, WiFi has been working intermittently, I have been ringing up asking for this to be fixed, which was finally done after Christmas. I was cut off twice on the phone.

Worst company I’ve ever dealt with, they don’t communicate properly, their online systems aren’t managed properly you can’t access your accounts or even set up an account, the customer service team transfer to wrong department multiple times because they couldn’t be bothered to deal with the query. Rang 3 weeks ago to let them know we moved into a property and update all the details, all the meter readings were given and I rang back today and they have no recollection or any details of anything. Absolutely appalling customer service. On the phone for 3 days and still no internet. Spoke with numerous agents many of whom hung up and finally decided to terminate my contract. The final agent from the retention team was actually verbally abusive !
No internet over Christmas! Disgusting service
Please avoid Shell at all cost.

Horrible company, avoid never use any broadband, even worse customer service, moved house booked engineer and he never turn up to find out they never book one, so I cancelled broadband to find out they where still charging me final bill month after, please avoid this company !!! Con Artists – Avoid!

Avoid Shell Energy! They are an appallingly bad company. They took over as our energy supplier over a year ago and still haven’t refunded the money they owe us (i expect this is the case for many of their other customers). They couldn’t care less about their customers, rude and unhelpful customer services staff (when you eventually do get through) We’ve wasted hours and hours of our time chasing the money they owe us only to be fobbed off every time, absolutely terrible, avoid at all costs, there are plenty of other energy suppliers available, see all the other bad reviews online of Shell and you will see that this is not an isolated instance! Disgusting behaviour from a company that made £10 billion in profits in the last quarter alone but refuses to refund £300 that they owe. It’s incredible that companies like this are allowed to get away with it. read more
