I had never heard of Shell Energy until…

I had never heard of Shell Energy until I was informed by my current energy provider that I was leaving them to sign on with Shell. This was news to me as I had not asked to leave, I contacted my provider and they said that I would have to contact Shell to see what was happening. All of my numerous attempts to resolve the issue with Shell failed, as surprise they had no reocrd of my name and contact details, they have erroneously switched me. It was my neighbour who was switching to Shell. Shell said that it was up to me to contact my neighbour to resolve the issue, I am still confused why it was up to me to fix the issue that they caused. Every contact with Shell was very much a computer says no.

Moved home and was hit with an outstanding charge of £340. Having submitted regular meter readings, I fail to understand why this company did not monitor my usage and advise me accordingly. Something to be mindful of.

I have eventually joined shell after 6weeks of waiting for them to complete the switchover .now wishing I had never joined them they took over my supply on the 29 November and asked for my opening reading which I have them and thought everything was ok got them out a few days later to install a smart meter but when the engineer switched it on it already had 45kw reading onit phoned them up and was informed I had to send pictures of it which I did. a few days later I received my final bill from my old supplier and it was based on an estimate so I called them up and they told me shell energy had not passed on the final reading and they told it is only the new supplier who can supply this reading not me.so I called up shell energy to find out what is happening.to be told the final reading I gave them 01669 has been increased to 01824 by a third party the (industry data) and it’s out of their hands I asked for the contact details of the third party only to be told after the checked their computer they don’t have them on file .so I have now raised a complaint as requested by the energy ombudsman and that is the service I’m getting for joining this company.avoid at all costs

SHELL ENERGY -a few months ago I switched from green…

a few months ago I switched from green network energy because shell were offering much lower KWH and daily standing charge rates. I was paying £30-35 max a month by direct debit to GNE. Shell take £42 a month and are increasing it – yet I use no more than I did before and it is supposed to be a lower rate. This has happened to other people – so what is happening, are SHELL messing with the meters in their favour?
