Hundreds of workers sacked by text at Shell’s Gnagarri solar farm
12 FEBRUARY 2021
AROUND 230 workers building Shell’s 120MW Gnagarri solar farm in Queensland were sacked by text message earlier this week due to a contractual disagreement between two labour-hire firms according to the Electrical Trade Union.
In a statement released yesterday, the ETU said staff, many of whom were working 60+ hours a week, were dismissed on Monday via a text message sent to them at 6am and were given no notice.
