Yet again they have closed the case

Yet again they have closed the case. They can’t even answer things correctly. Completely useless. Think the complaint about them is going ahead.

Avoid at all costs

Moved into a new house and unfortunately Shell provided the gas. Tried to move to another supplier however the meter had been allocated to a neighbouring property on the national database. Called Shell to get this resolved and what should have been a 2 week process has so far taken 5 month to sort. Meanwhile Shell continue to charge an arm and a leg for gas with no way out of the contract as I couldn’t transfer to my new supplier. Incompetent doesn’t seem like a strong enough description for how they operate.

They charge people who have died £50…

They charge people who have died £50 early exit fee for leaving their contract early! Disgraceful! I contacted Shell energy by ‘chat’. They informed me if I didn’t pay the bill, action would be taken

Reply from Shell Energy for Home Customers

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We don’t charge exit fee’s on bereaved accounts, I’m ever so sorry if this has happened, please email us at the address below and we can waive these charges that have been incorrectly applied: [email protected] -Tom

TELL THEM CURRENT CONTRACT END DATE!

Be aware of your exact contract(broadband Phone) end date when changing providers. Shell do not ask you this and you can get caught out, having to pay for two providers at once! This mistake cost me £25 approx. In my case I was told by Plusnet that my contract was ending soon so I got a quote from them but found Shell providing a better rate, I changed to them. As I do not do this very often I do not know the ins and out of changing providers. I feel it is a matter of curtesy and good business that the new provider starts the contract when the old one finishes. Not as soon as possible getting paid ASAP disregarding the current contracts end date.
