Hurrah…..we have our county court date papers in the post this morning. Finally they are going to have to address the issue…. I shall keep you all posted. Please scroll back on here to see the debacle which is Shell Energy. Don’t do it folks… Don’t do it….find another provider.

2 Wasted hours

I phoned Shell Energy to discuss my tariff. I spent 2hrs being put on hold being transferred and cut off. I can’t imagine a worse service. read more

Awful awful awful

Awful service. Can’t get hold of anyone. Have referred us to debt collectors twice for a bill that was from the previous tenants of the property, and have even contacted my parents who live elsewhere and have nothing to do with this? read more

Unethical, dishonest, greedy & dishonourable

Unethical (persuaded 85 year old to switch whilst shopping in Asda). Misleading (direct debit fell far short of usage & so accumulated a huge debt). Dishonest (agreed her repayment proposal & then additionally took an extra £100 by direct debit). Greedy (want to charge an exit fee). Dishonourable (blocked her move to another energy provider). Unreasonable length of time to get through to customer service. Agents pleasant & sympathetic but they have no authority.

Don’t trust! They lied to my face to get me to switch to them!

I switched to shell because they told me the standing charges were a lot less than I was initially paying and trusted I was being told the truth as it was face to face in my own gome. I never had anything to show me the rates and couldn’t access my online account for months and when I finally could I realised I was paying more than double! When I contacted them they told me as it was a face to face sign up there was nothing they could do as it was my word against their’s! So far in 8 months it cost me about £400 more than if I’d stayed with British gas so I would definitely not trust or recommend them ever! read more

Avoid like the plague, they are taking advantage of people in lockdown

I was with the previous company before Shell took them over and had no problems with them, as soon as shell took over its been nothing but problems, for no reason my bill went from £ 75 to £92 and then 3 months later £102, i asked them to change my tariff to a cheaper one (£85) which all went through and i received confrontation. I checked the small print and there was 0 charge for changing tarriffs.
I got my bill today, not only has my bill stayed at £102 but theyve also charged me £100 for unknown “other charges and tarriff” upon looking at my bill the price p/kwh had DOUBLED in one month this has put me over £220 in arrears. And they do not want to help and say its what i owe so it must be paid even though they themselves dont know what the extra £100 charges are. It seems they are taking advantage of people being in lockdown and hiking there prices up
