PLEASE DO NOT USE SHELL OR THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CREDIT HISTORY

I am a respectable 58 year old woman, running a corporate business. I changed to Shell 11 months ago after being with my previous supplier with whom I was with for a very long time, however their charges were becoming very high and like other customers on here I felt, Shell, enormous company, should be fine. I went into everything and they appeared to offer the best tariffs etc etc. I set the account up by direct debit as always and was quite happy running with it until POW!!! They almost doubled my bills overnight, without warning an took money out of my account.

Now call me sceptical, but my immediate thought was, this is naughty without telling me. I left the direct debit in place then politely contacted them, no response, again i contacted them, no response. I then became annoyed so I then sent an email asking if Shell were in financial trouble and were they needing to double my monthly payment that I had been paying my previous provider to run their business. A little rude, however I was annoyed at them just doing this without notice and even more for not responding. You’ve guessed it, didnt respond so I cancelled my Direct Debit. I then started paying the bill when I received the email. A few months ago my husband became seriously ill. I completely forgot about my bill, i forgot about most things in truth.

After then becoming absolutely hounded to the point of stalked from Shell regarding the bill and I settled it.

Oh they can contact you when they want your money and not overtaking it, wonderful to know. Last week I got an email from experian to advise that my credit score had gone down from 998 to 712 which has taken me from excellent to fair. I was gobsmacked so I spoke to a representative.

The wonderful Shell Energy have but a black mark against my credit, the first ever ever in my life from being 18. The anger, the hurt that i feel over this has sunk me it really has.

So its ok for you to double charge me and take over my bank account un-necessarily and without permission but because on one month, one month I made an error due to family issues, you do this to your customers. I have never felt so low.

I have tried to email these people with a complaint against this to no avail and no surprise. I have spoken with the Ombudsmen who has advised to take action to have the only blip, one month on my credit file removed and seemingly it is only them that can do this, otherwise, that is me marked for 6 years. I can leave 31st of August 2021 and I will exercise the right. I have to say to Shell Energy.

SHAME ON YOU FOR USING MY BANK ACCOUNT TO TAKE MONEY AS YOU WISH AND PRETTY MUCH RUIN MY CREDIT HISTORY FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. I HOPE YOUR CEO IS VERY PROUD OF YOU !!!!!
