Australia’s Biggest Corporate Whistleblower That No-One Has Ever Heard Of!

18 July 2026

Whistleblower Kent Quinlan will return to the Supreme Court of Australia on 30th July 2026 before Justice Cooper in the long-running proceedings

Quinlan v Shell and Others.

The case likely supersedes Australia’s highest-profile corporate whistleblower matters to date, exposing alleged criminal findings which could result in significant terms of imprisonment and market manipulation with potential ASIC fines in excess of a billion dollars and additional class actions in excess of a billion dollars.

Mr Quinlan has pursued the matter over several years applying to the Supreme Court to force Shell to handover secret company documents including those that implicate Macquarie Bank (Australia’s largest listed investment bank) to ensure transparency, shareholder accountability and that proper scrutiny of corporate conduct occurs.

“This case is about ensuring that no corporation is beyond accountability, Shareholders are entitled to transparency, and the courts play a vital role in protecting that principle.” — Jeff Morris OAM, Banking Whistleblower
