Shell’s $6.4 Billion Pension Bombshell: SEC Disclosure Reveals Major Accounting Loss Expected as Dutch Retirement Scheme Changes
Hello John
I had not looked at your site for a while when someone sent me your piece on the SSPF.
I distributed that to several old colleagues. Great appreciation. This whole deal is murky and stinks to high heaven. We should have closed the fund and not chosen for ‘invaren’.
But the politicians and evil HR staff forced/bamboozled the staffcouncil to agree. This whole deal is sold as transparant but it is as intransparant as can be.
Delta Lloyd and IBM have chosen to close and not go for invaren.
Unilever and Dow (and others) also chose not to go for invaren.
It all started when a caretaker government (had fallen and elections were planned) signed a few days before going home the new pension law against advice of many genuine experts. In the law it is fixed that individuals have no rights anymore. So we are neutralised. As a thank you the PM became secretary of the NATO and the minister who signed the law became mayor of Rotterdam. You scratch my back, I scratch your back…
Blackrock and other xxxxxxxxx will now run many pensionfunds.
And this choice for Blackrock by Shell after our own organisation (Shell Asset Management) had done a great job for many years. It just stank.
So your piece was (as usual) very timely. But I fear we can do nothing anymore. The rich dutch pensionfunds will be robbed empty and given to the ‘poor’ countries like France, Italy, Greece and others.
