Michael Crothers at Shell E&P Ireland Limited
By John Donovan
On 7 November, we published the first news of the firing of Lorraine Mitchelmore, the President and Country Chair of Shell Canada.
The information, which came from a Shell insider source, was posted on our Shell Blog under the alias of “Manny”
The departure of Lorraine Mitchelmore has been confirmed today by the mainstream media, 10 days later.
She claims that she was not sacked, but stepped down to spend more time with her children.
Our insider source says otherwise and may comment further.
She is being replaced by Michael Crothers, previously the controversial Chief Executive of Shell Ireland, where he led a cover-up of widespread corruption surrounding the Corrib Gas Project.
The corruption involved the Irish police, as exposed in a remarkable whole page article by the esteemed chief correspondent of The Observer/Guardian Group, Ed Vulliamy.
Mr. Crothers is implicated in the Irish scandal, which is currently smoldering, but could reignite at any time and bring him down.
The whistleblower Shell supplier OSSL, which freely admits its role in the corruption, has had direct discussions with Ben van Beurden, the CEO of Royal Dutch Shell Plc.
OSSL emails to BvB and his colleague, Maarten Wetselaar were sent earlier today.
No doubt OSSL will be in contact with Michiel Crothers with whom they have met a number of times.
I am in possession of a surreptitious recording of a conversation between OSSL directors and a senior Dublin lawyer who was in attendance at the meetings.
What on earth persuaded Shell to put such a vulnerable executive into the top job at Shell Canada, with a massive scandal hanging around his neck?royaldutchshellplc.com and its sister websites royaldutchshellgroup.com, shellnazihistory.com, royaldutchshell.website, johndonovan.website, shellnews.net, shell2004.com, shellshareholders.org, don-marketing.com and cybergriping.com are all owned by John Donovan.
