Post Office broadband to join Shell Energy

We’re excited to announce that we’ve signed a deal to purchase Post Office’s broadband and telephony business. We plan to complete the deal over the next few months, which means welcoming over 450,000 new broadband customers into the Shell Energy family.

Once the deal is complete, we’ll start moving Post Office customers over to Shell Energy, where they can expect no interruptions to their service, no changes to contract pricing, and a world of new benefits. This includes exclusive savings on fuel and more with the Shell Go+ loyalty app. In the meantime, Post Office customers will see no change to their service. read more

Broadband bills will increase for thousands of Shell customers in a DOUBLE price rise

BROADBAND customers who have a contract with Shell Energy could face two price increases to their monthly bills in the coming months, the home internet provider has confirmed.

Shell Energy will increase prices for some broadband customers twice in the next six months, it has confirmed. The internet service provider has informed all customers who signed-up to one of its broadband plans before September 2, 2020 that a price hike to their home broadband and phone services will kick-in on January 11, 2020. read more

 Uncontactable: Been trying to get hold of them since joining them 2 months ago to no avail. Never answer the phone, online chat queue over 50 long. Resolver complaints procedure absolutely useless. Can get through to sales, but not customer service or complaints! Switching to Shell is one of my biggest regrets this year!

“Awful company. They constantly and relentlesly harassed my elderly, vulnerable mother to force her to have a smart meter fitted (which she didn’t want or need). Bullying, abusive, tactics were used (constant phone calls/emails/untruths, rude calls) , I was starting legal action before they finally stopped. SHAME ON YOU SHELL ENERGY!!!”

Shell Broadband customers are most stressed of UK ISPs – research

New research from comparison site Broadband Genie shows that customers of Shell Broadband are the most stressed of any UK ISP.

The research is based on an analysis of tweets from start-2020 to 25 September which mention major UK broadband and TV providers. BroadandGenie used the TensiStrength tool to analyse language and estimate content stress levels. More than one third (36.7%) of tweets about Shell Broadband were classed as ‘stressed’. This was followed by Post Office (35.3%), Plusnet (32.9%) and Sky (31.1%). Fibre broadband provider Hyperoptic had the lowest level of stressed tweets at 13.4 percent; ahead of NOW Broadband (14.2%) and EE (17%). read more

2 Wasted hours

I phoned Shell Energy to discuss my tariff. I spent 2hrs being put on hold being transferred and cut off. I can’t imagine a worse service. read more

I think your services are absolutely terrible!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Absolute joke of a company. How do they get away with this ignorance?

After being with shellenergy for 2 years, everything seemed fine. Until I went to switch. All of a sudden I owed them £700, even though i provided readings every 3 months. Fair enough, they have obviously ignored my meter readings to get me into debt with them, so that when it comes to switching I can’t. Underhand tactics but I decided to set up a payment plan. read more

Unethical, dishonest, greedy & dishonourable

Unethical (persuaded 85 year old to switch whilst shopping in Asda). Misleading (direct debit fell far short of usage & so accumulated a huge debt). Dishonest (agreed her repayment proposal & then additionally took an extra £100 by direct debit). Greedy (want to charge an exit fee). Dishonourable (blocked her move to another energy provider). Unreasonable length of time to get through to customer service. Agents pleasant & sympathetic but they have no authority.

Don’t trust! They lied to my face to get me to switch to them!

I switched to shell because they told me the standing charges were a lot less than I was initially paying and trusted I was being told the truth as it was face to face in my own gome. I never had anything to show me the rates and couldn’t access my online account for months and when I finally could I realised I was paying more than double! When I contacted them they told me as it was a face to face sign up there was nothing they could do as it was my word against their’s! So far in 8 months it cost me about £400 more than if I’d stayed with British gas so I would definitely not trust or recommend them ever! read more

IGNORANT, INCOMPETENT, DISGUSTING ORGANISATION

IGNORANT, INCOMPETENT ORGANISATION. If I could award this disgusting company -5 stars then I would.I spoke with a senior manager a few weeks ago to request a payment holiday given the current situation. He agreed stating no problem at all and and suggested an 8 week payment holiday and if I require a longer period then simply contact them again in eight weeks. He also reassured me that no payment letters would be sent over this period and that my account was on hold. Fantastic or so thought until a few weeks later I when I begin to receive numerous threatening letters and and emails from a Shell Energy contractor DEBIT COLLECTORS !! read more

A company of Liars.

There is nothing positive about this company. They are a disgusting company and utterly useless in every sense. They try to tell me I owe them almost £2,000 because their systems are so awful its systems override meter readings, they end up refunding me over, £1,100 and are now illegally blocking me from moving supplier.. They have deliberately added the same balance back on my account which suspiciously was immediately after I said I was leaving… They are completely inept and underhanded. Stay away from these lieing prats. They have had 5 previous chances to correct this and tried to tell me each time it was sorted. Don’t even consider doing business with these liars. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

I signed my contract for Fast Fibre Broadband before Christmas and was told that I should be connected by the 6th of January. Rooter etc. arrived in time before the connection date and I followed the instruction to install it. The 6th came and went and I had nothing.

An engineer rang me today to let me know that he could only connect my phone line as the broadband had been cancelled???? So I called cust services again and after 25 minutes spoke to an operator who, put me on hold for another 15 minutes and then another 15 minutes to then not listen to me, not reading my emails correctly (so she did not have all the information) to then blatantly lying to me. read more

Hideous company a total disgrace to the electrical supply industry.

Absolutely NO customer service as they never answer the phone just look at all the reviews that complain about this.

Constantly overcharge and dispite being massively in credit they never refund the money they hold…

I can only assume all their staff wear Stetsons and ride around on horses as they are the biggest bunch of cowboys you will ever have the misfortune to deal with totally incompetent ill-informed and incapable of supplying any help or support. read more
